The decision for us!

Like most people in life we had a decision or two that needed making. For me it was easy, for my wife it was the start of a new and exciting adventure. I had traveled and lived full time as an RV'er before Kathie and I met. I think it was the tales of wonderful places and new things to see that convinced Kathie.  We set our goals and started in their direction. First we would need a tow vehicle. We bought a 2012 Dodge Dully Diesel 3500. Taking several weeks and a lot of phone calls we bought a used 25K fifth wheel plate and installed it into our 3500's bed. We had also been looking at used Fifth Wheel Trailers (Fiver). My previous travels had been with a Dodge Dully and a Fifth Wheel, my preferred set up. The Fiver we had settled on was a 2008 Dutchman Grand Junction. It had the perfect set up for us and we knew it would be great for full time living. It had everything we could have hoped for, except a reasonable price. Having the luxury of time we made an offer way below their asking price. Of course it was rejected, but we had time on our side. That was May, we bought at our price in September. It pays to be patient, saving us 15k off the original asking price.

Taking time to get our house in order. We set it up, making sure it was ship shape and ready to go. We put our stick built house on the market and the waiting begins. Meantime we continue to take our travel house out on weekends, vacations and holidays, every chance we get to be out on the road and meet new people. We are excited and looking forward to leaving our physical address for the last time. We plan to travel and live the Nomadic life style. Everything is set and we're just waiting. Begs to ask, "Why Go Dutch"? The answer is simple. "Because we can". Once our home is sold we will have no reason to remain here. If you were free to travel and could, would you? I think we all have that intersection in our life! You know, the one that you come to everyday on your way to work, shopping or same route. You come up to the intersection, right turn you do or go where you always do! If you make a left turn, it leads out of town and in a direction you have never been! Life is a pool game. Plan your next shot. Learn to deal with that new direction and see where it end.

    1. We still have a house to sell Dianna before we can go full time. Until then we will have to settle for short trips, weekends and vacations.
